It's April, so here's a fool who has brain cells but prefers not to use them on a regular basis :3

The weather's going back up and my fatigue and achiness is hitting hard this morning, but still getting some good books in :)

The Uninvited by Dorothy MaCardle, A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn, and A Caribbean Mystery, in Spanish, by Agatha Christie

Didn't do a Friday Reads this week because I've felt terrible the last few days, but I'm feeling Somewhat Better today (certainly less pain!), so, weekend reads :D. Finally finished a couple of the books I'd been taking a while to get through.

Four stacked books: The Bitter Crown by Justin Lee Anderson, the hypothesis of love, Spanish translation, by Ali Hazlewood, boyfriend material by Alexis Hall, and so late in the day by Claire Keegan

I barely got any writing done the last few days because I was feeling unwell, but I'm trying to do some tonight and hoping next week will be better. The weather's still wobbling a little, but we're hitting 88f again today so I'm sure we'll be breaking 90f pretty early in March, unfortunately. But my rheumatologist's okayed taking an extra steroid dose when I need it, so once my body re-adjusts to the heat, I should be okay. Probably. Oh well.

Still working my way through last week's reads because I got distracted and read a couple ebooks, but also added a couple of faster-paced books to swap with for a change (plus am listening to Deborah Blake's Furbidden Fatality on audiobook. Solid cozy so far). Have actually Read The Love Hypothesis before, but I picked it up in Spanish as part of my ongoing project to practice my Spanish and reduce the snide comments from my grandmother about how Americanized I've gotten when I visit this spring.

The Lost War by Justin Lee Anderson and La hipótesis del amor by Ali Hazelwood

This week was full of frustrating, last-minute work for the day job, and I'm wiped out + feeling what might be a little flare up. Progress on the original fiction is slow, since I've been spending probably too much time writing Torchwood fic for Febuwhump, but it's been a fun time, though I need to refocus.

Saturday morning reading in between footie matches (along with an ongoing reread of the Dresden Files on audiobook; currently on Dead Beat). Back to trying to catch at least two matches a weekend--and trying to watch Tigres matches when they're available on streaming, and it's honestly done more for my mental health than anything I've tried in months. I hadn't realied how much I missed soccer since I moved in with The Roommate.

Two books: The Living Mountain by Nan Shepherd and La vida privada de los arboles by Alejandro Zambra

Realized I hadn't checked in on the extended family's whatsapp chat in a week and found several pics of my mom this morning--it would have been her 65th birthday Jan 31st (Dad would be 68 this March); I'd remembered, but was so busy with the usual end-of-January work wildness that I missed the day of. Still brings up all sorts of complicated feelings.

It's back into the 80s here, so I'm having more muscle/joint pain again, buttt I felt well enough to walk to the post office and back yesterday, so I'm counting this week as a win on the autoimmune front.
