Notes: For Febuwhump, Day 10, Killing in Self Defense. Slowly catching up!
Summary: It's Owen who understands, the first time Tosh kills someone.
Jack tells her she did a good job. He's not unkind about it, and comes to her later with an understanding ear and a speech about doing what you have to, to survive, about it all being for the greater good.
Suzie just gives her an approving nod.
But Owen understands.
It's the first time he's been something other than a prick since she started. His lips tighten when he spots the body; he holds his hand out to Tosh, speckled in blood with bruises the size of the dead man's fingers forming in a ring around her neck, and leads her away.
He waits until Jack's done with her that evening, takes her to a pub, and gets her drunker than she's been since uni. He sees her home, after, and makes her guzzle aspirin and water before she sleeps.
She sees him, finally, as the doctor he is.
