Oh, I've definitely done it too, but I've gotten a bit more impatient about it as I got older.
Every time I'm chatting with you about Torchwood I feel like I end up going, "I wish Torchwood had been X," but it is frustrating, going back and rewatching and reading so much fic (and also listening to some of the Big Finish dramas, now), because the show had such a good *skeleton*, and they could have filled it out with so much fun character growth and introspection and, yeah, dealing with all the trauma they went through in the episodes, but for the most part they just didn't. Which leaves so much space to play in with fic, but it's frustrating thinking about what we could have gotten to watch the actors play.
